Why everyone keeps coming back.

Nestled in the vibrant heart of Manzanillo - Puerto Vallarta, La Casa De La Abuela offers an authentic taste of Mexico that both locals and travelers cherish. This charming Mexican restaurant prides itself on delivering fresh, vibrant flavors that pay homage to traditional recipes, lovingly prepared to delight every palate.

The moment you step into La Casa De La Abuela, you’re greeted by an inviting open-air atmosphere — a perfect blend of warmth and relaxation. The gentle ocean breeze pairs beautifully with the scent of freshly made tortillas, as each meal is crafted with care and respect for Mexican culinary heritage.

Patrons consistently rave about their diverse menu. From the hearty, vegetable omelette celebrated by Mike Best to the comforting breakfast waffles paired with ice cream, every dish feels like a lovingly prepared home-cooked meal. The fresh, hand-made tortillas—a cornerstone of their offerings—bring an irresistible authenticity to every plate.

The service here is as memorable as the cuisine. Attentive staff anticipate your needs without overwhelming, making each visit smooth and enjoyable. As Elva Vargas notes, the team’s care shines through, enhancing the rich flavors and vibrant dishes.

La Casa De La Abuela isn’t just a restaurant — it's a beloved culinary sanctuary near ZLO Airport, as longtime guest Jazo Alicea attests from decades of visits. Whether you’re stopping by after a flight or exploring the coastal beauty of Col., this place promises a genuine Mexican dining experience with a welcoming smile.

Accessible parking and the quiet charm of its roadside location make it a convenient and delightful spot for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Awesome breakfast place on the side of the road. Tons of parking which is nice. It's located right by the highway but it's actually pretty quiet. Great Mexican food ! My wife had the vegetable omelette and I had the waffles with icecream.. amazing !!! Decently priced as well

So Mexican: I loved it. Roadside restaurant. Had the chiliquiles with chicken and both red and green sauce. So good. And of course, fresh orange juice to drink.

Always a good place for a good meal. A few years ago we stopped for a meal before dropping friends at the airport. We had our meal and Mike asked if they had dessert. They didn’t, but the cook(abuela) cut a piece from a cake she had baked for husband. The positive was she never charged for the dessert.
